All set for play to begin. Decent crowd in too. Sammy calls his boys into a huddle. A win here will see them jump back into the top four. Aleem Dar just dropped a catch from the drone that passes on the match ball. The person who laughed the loudest was Kamran Akmal. Do any of you see the joke? Anyway, back to serious business.
Over the last couple of weeks, fans in Pakistan have been impressed by Ibtisam Sheikh. Who is he, where does he come from, where did he learn his craft? Umar Farooq traces them out for you
Khan: “The way ISL has misused Farhan is extremely disappointing. First he was dropped down to bat in the lower order when he is a regular opener in the domestic circuit, and now he is dropped from the team without a proper chance.”
Haris Ahmad: “Excited to see Zafar Gohar gets some run, excellent young prospect as a genuine spinner. Did well in his only international match, hope to see him in the Pakistan green soon.”
7.30pm Peshawar Zalmi opt to bowl.
Zalmi changes: Sammy for Wessels, Khushdil for Amad and Ibtisam for Sameen Gul
Islamabad change: Sahibzada Farhan out, Zafar Gohar in.
They may have won today, but apparently Brendon McCullum offered to quit Lahore Qalandars’ captaincy because of results not going their way.
Meanwhile, will Shane Watson go to Pakistan? That and much else in our PSL newsfile
7.15pm Daren Sammy’s Peshawar Zalmi against Misbah’s Islamabad United in the second game on a festive Friday evening. The tournament’s into the business end and teams will now start scrambling to finish in the top four. Remember, this time two teams will be eliminated and Zalmi is right on the edge at the moment. Meanwhile, Lahore Qalandars have broken a six-match duck in the first game. Plenty to look forward to this evening.
